Chief Ali & Lay Loe Tha Mos

Ever wondered why participation trophies may be setting our kids up for failure? It's a controversial question, but in this episode, we dare to challenge the status quo and explore the controversial role of bullies in shaping character. The struggle, confrontation, and grit that often stem from encounters with bullies can be fundamental to personal growth, teaching us resilience and how to stand up for ourselves without losing respect or dignity.

Shifting our perspective on leadership, we dive deep into the turbulent era of Donald Trump’s presidency. We assess his unique style of leadership and its impact on foreign relations. By juxtaposing historical events like Christopher Columbus' 'discovery' of America, we scrutinize the birth, teaching, and transmission of leadership. We also take a hard look at the stark imbalances of power dynamics, and the often-ignored needs of the less privileged.

In the digital age, social media has transformed communication, offering a broad platform for free speech. Yet, it's not without its shadows - the rise of cyberbullying brings a new dimension to our exploration of bullies. Reflecting on a time before social media, we contrast the impacts of traditional and online bullying, exploring how this evolution of interaction affects our response to adversity. Join us on this journey as we navigate the complex nuances of character development, leadership, and the double-edged sword of technology."

Remember, even a diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure. Tune in and let's explore these complex issues together.

Speaker 1:

Hey, man, you spoke on a topic earlier, man, that I thought was actually something serious, man, something to kind of talk about, and I feel like it kind of plays on your character how it helps build you up, man, but in today's world, it seemed like nobody is safe from being antagonized or being bullied, if you will Right. So, man, do you feel like being bullied is useful, like, is there pros and cons to potentially having a bully or some controversy? If you will, yeah, man. So I'm just going to. I heard Kevin Samuel say this shit a long time ago, man. He said as a man, you don't really know who you are until you get hit in the face real hard. Just get your shit just clocked, and the way you respond to that, you really get to know who you are. How did you handle that? You got hit like that. You know, hard as fuck. So into the bullies, man. Are bullies? Are bullies important? Are bullies essential? Are bullies useful? Just take it from the elementary school days, man.

Speaker 1:

A lot of what you had to learn about yourself involved who you are or who you can be physically, whether it's in sports, you know what I mean arm wrestling, making beats on the table. How well can you rap and can you fight Competition, if you will From competition and can you and can you fight. So when it comes down to it, I'll say, like a lot of kids are soft these days getting participation trophies for everything, just for being on the football team, y'all ain't winning shit, y'all win 0 and 8. They got a little trophy at the end of the year To put like three ounces of juice in there. That's it. That's it Got a little Grammy. You know like, hey, what the fuck is the trophies for? Just for being here? Nah, man, you got to win some shit, got to do something, got to earn something. You know what I mean. So just from that man, and just entitlement comes into it. I can tell a lot of you, but y'all ain't been hitting the face. You ain't been jumping before. You ain't never had to just curl up and take it. I ain't. Let me just cover up until it's over and get up and see if I can get one of you knees Right.

Speaker 1:

So I'll say this man, I feel like this is a good topic to have. Yeah, and as a person who who's been bullied and I would consider the bullying of this is what I mean we talked about on a couple of episodes ago of having some grit For sure. I'm not telling you to be disrespectful. I'm not telling you to go out here and just look for a challenge. I'm starting to know shit Won't be, no shit. What I'm telling you is condition yourself to be at a place that nobody can just do what they want to do to you freely, straight up, without it being some. Give back Some fucking consequence For sure, man.

Speaker 1:

So I think Mike Tyson has said everybody has a plan until they get hit in the face. Hit them off. Yeah, like everybody got a plan to get hitting them off. Shit change, Completely fucking change. Yeah, man, shit change. But I believe in. I believe in. This is my theory. We live in a world right now where people don't want to accept they lost us. Yeah, they're like oh, I don't lose, I just get a lesson. I'm okay with that and I'll tell you as a person who is viewed to be winning at life or certain things.

Speaker 1:

Another quote came from Michael Jordan I'm only as successful as I am because of how many times I didn't fail. All right, most people are afraid to try something because they're going to be bad at it. They're not going to be good at it. So when it comes to even adversity, having to stand up for yourself, that's a new place for you. And yeah, on TV it looks really good and macho. And yeah, yeah, until you get hit in the face. And when some shit is brand new to you as an adult like typically as adults, at least in a mature setting it don't come to physical, but a lot of what you learn just based off of standing up for yourself come from those elementary grade school days.

Speaker 1:

Hey, fuck him up for sure, straight up. Don't run home. You come home and you don't give your nose bleeding. His eye better be hanging out of my fucking socket. You know what I'm saying. His mama better be calling my mama because of some shit that you did, exactly Going through some shit, man. So bullies and it sounds weird, for even speakers Hit me out, it sounds weird. Man, bullies are important Nowadays. You got cyber bullying and wish just being me. Man, like, I'm not going to say I don't understand, but I don't see myself necessarily being affected by something somebody say through motherfucking screen and broadband internet and shit. I'm going to give a fuck. Say whatever the fuck you want to say about me on cyber bullying me. You better come see me. I'm going to have to feel you If I'm, if I'm a feel threatened, if I'm a feel, oh my God, you want me to feel some shit. You want you going to have to smell me and I'm going to have to smell you. You know what I mean. I've been looking for them and they've been looking for me and we're going to get it right here, right now.

Speaker 1:

We come from a different place, man. So, like we said when the bar guy was here, we grew up with social media. We didn't grow up with social media. One more time for the niggas in the back that couldn't break that down. We grew up with social media. We didn't grow up with social media. Y'all going to get it. Just keep playing it again and again and again, yeah. So I'll say this, man, for the timeframe that we grew up late 80s, early 90s, early 2000s man, we were outside. Outside was the place to be, and I'm an alley cat, bro. I'm even at home. I'm outside. I'm back outside. I'm outside, bro. Ain't no ceilings out there.

Speaker 1:

So I feel like I could just go wherever, but I feel that having to accept the challenge of a bully and keeping in mind all fights aren't physical, all fights aren't physical, but being able to accept that challenge. See what's on the other side of it scared, fearful, the gnar. When lose draw, you still ranked as a fighter straight, oh shit. When loser draw but that's a quarter-mile I use. When loser draw, I'm still ranked as a fucking fighter. And you know what the thing about bullies is. What's that? Bullies don't want you to fight back. Hell, fuck, no fucking when you mess with the bullies as soon as you. Only you only got to hit that motherfucker one Time. Bullies want a bully. They don't want to fight. Mm-hmm, the eat.

Speaker 1:

So, as a person who has a fighting background, taking a lot of eels until I start when I got a good win industry, but I what I mean? What about the eels? Until the win streak is, most of the time, people don't really recognize pain and Something in this generation of us growing up pain was inflicted almost everywhere. Yeah, your bully was somebody that you had the overall avoid in the, in the presence. They was in your neighborhood, they went to your school, they went to your church. It's at the cousin house, somewhere that you had to kind of go, compared to the, the generation of children. Now, as you mentioned me, they got cyberbullying.

Speaker 1:

Words hurt things that can affect you. However, sticks, I am not. I'm not impressed by your typing skills and vernacular over a keyboard, where I come from. I'm more impressed by your Bob and your weavers. You're right cross your left jab how can you stick your move? Or if you not even a boxer nigga, do you slam laundry change out of my, smack you across your mouth with the keyboard? You type before. So I don't promote Violence, but I promote get back. I promote Dude. I'm not, I'm not trying to start shit. I like laughing. Yes, pussy, a lot of앤. Or some people fight sometimes. No, that you can enjoy Fires. Uh, we're with friends. Eyta, give some money. What's yours? Cheers 둘 farm From Just one of these. Like no.

Speaker 1:

Well, however, in the, in the words of the, the prophet, little John, and he's a boy, that was us disciples, the east side boys from the far, far east of Jerusalem, dude, oh, any, young blizz, don't start. No shit Won't be no shit. I tell my kids this man, see, we see, I Got. We say man, when I was coming up, man I was, I was a good kid, I Was just a bad student. Mmm, I ain't never start no shit with nobody. What? Never want to be trying to try to fuck with nobody.

Speaker 1:

If anything, I'll protect somebody who being fucked with you know I'm saying, hey, man, doing like that, you know what I mean. Shit like it. If you and I ain't I ain't been in a fight in a long time we need to go out and get into it with some things. See what's going on out there. Maybe not I call the police, but no man. But when you, that little dude who I got in my mind right now, man, you, you fuck with him, you do something to to his family. You know what I mean. Oh, you don't start us some shit. You didn't start us from shit, yeah, and he was, he was a, he was a finished some shit type of dude, straight up, sure. So what?

Speaker 1:

I'll ask you this man, since we speaking on the bullies and how people have to handle themselves and really a lot of this information we give our kids, we give our boys raising men, would you Give the advice still of like, choosing your battles? Yeah, definitely choosing your battles for, say, when it come we've been through this with my oldest boy, maybe two school years ago hey, man, you gotta hit him in the mouth. Gotta hit him in the mouth. You know I'm saying you can't just be one to be getting fucked with. You know I'm saying, and especially if you done, we done, told the bus driver. And the bus driver yeah, we tried. Okay, the bus driver seems to not give a shit. Let's take a net, let's, let's, let's call the school. Hello, principal Lewis, this kid is fucking with my kid. Just wanted you to know. And I don't fucking appreciate another week, oh, bye, nothing. Okay, son, is it? Look like it's on us, look like it's on us to finish this shit. Get him in the fucking mouth as hard as you fucking came. You Don't try.

Speaker 1:

We don't took other avenues, we tried to be the nice guy. Nah, man, it's on us. So that advice definitely come on, even with late. What Don't they like? To really hit some shit? Yes, you did, it's the fuck you did. Anyway, we, my advice is to don't.

Speaker 1:

When we ain't one I told my, but we ain't one we don't start shit. We do not start shit. We don't fuck with nobody. You know I'm saying we nice to people, we polite, we know how to talk to folks who know how to treat people right, help people when they in need, be a good student. When it's time to finish some shit, hey, we got to get in that bag. Yeah, we got to finish some shit.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, don't want to be that dude, don't want to be that dude. I don't like being him. I Don't want to hurt you. I love you. You, my brother. Well, fuck you. You fucking with me. Yeah, you got to get hit in the mouth, man. Yeah, and watch him never fuck with you again, cuz he know, oh, he fight back, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So most people who Fight back, regardless of his you a grade, a fighter or subpar Most people think two to three times Before they fuck with somebody that they know will even give them a challenge. Yeah, all right, I heard Mike Tyson say it too. He was like, hey, man, make sure I get this correct, cuz, mike Tyson, I wasn't listening to his podcast hot box and when Mike Tyson checked that out but he was he was stating like, hey, yeah, man, even the strongest and biggest fighters think twice or three times about another person who would still give them a challenge. He was like he came up in the air where fighters didn't work in control of who they fought and they would literally be scared, literally like that. That's okay, but meaning a man.

Speaker 1:

We're all professional great athletes and, and Mike, I can't remember who he was fighting. He was like man. You ever hit somebody? What all you got? And they still just keep coming, even to holy field. He was like man. I Forgot who he was fighting probably van but he was like he was hitting them.

Speaker 1:

Well, all he got was frustrated as a motherfucker. He was like man, hitting them with everything. He got Everything. And the motherfucker like a freight train. They just keep the son of a woman. This wouldn't go down. I gave him everything I had. I got so frustrated. He was such a good fighter. I just swish, swish, swish, swish, I don't know, I got a fucking bite him. But yeah, man, he, he, mike, don't kick my. Yeah, he don't like niggas impersonating me, but yeah, I got a chance to Hear these fighters. Man, and I'm a, I'm a fighter by spirit. All fights aren't physical, you know all. All fights need to be fought, but not all fights need to be one Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes there is a victory in just fighting back, just showing like, hey, man, I'm, I ain't no bitch ass, ain't no bitch ass, I, I ain't the first one on the. I know, grunt, marine, that I'm just looking for the shit Like, oh, where is it? At Kicking the first half night, let's come out Pushing points on the board. You know we lost this one, guys. Yeah, yeah, that's that. That circles back around.

Speaker 1:

To like choosing your battles yeah, man, this one, this, this battle you can have, you can have the bragging rights for, you can have everything that comes with it. I live to fight. Another day, however, when a more reasonable opponent in my weight class or that's more equipped, that I feel like I have a shot. Yeah, not just I'm getting more mileage, that's important. It's like, over here with this shit, they be over there. They, they veterans, they live on that shit. Different weights, man. So Moving, we'll move a little bit forward, man. Hang on real before we move on, man. So, like you gave us a quote from Mike Tyson, okay, you gave us a quote from Michael Jordan, so now you got to give us one from Michael Jackson. Go, the kid is not my son and just beat it. I thought you was going to say, no, I do fuck with that man, but we're going to move, we're going to shift gears a little bit, man.

Speaker 1:

I'm a politic person. I'm learning politics the red and the blue what it really all means breaking it down, all these different parties and people. That goes that they choose on the side, like chopping down stuff so small to try to fit everybody here. But I do have a question, man. Especially when it comes to presidential debates, elections, comes to the last couple presidents and even just the circumstance that the the US, I'll most definitely say is in, do you think Trump was right, got to impact that? We got to impact that because you see the reason why a lot of people who struggle with Trump including me Okay, I'm in the box it's because we, you look for a certain character when it comes from any civil servant.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean. It's the character of a person. That's why they go on these campaigns and they shake hands and kiss babies. This is why you look for a character, a person who you want your kids to look up to. Hey, president Lincoln Clinton, the face that makes it possible. Yeah, you know it was a nice guy. Oh, he has a great head of hair. You know what I mean. Does it? The family will not him, but it's usually presidents got back in the day when they had the beard shit that rolled a shit up. They be sitting under the girl and I, if they had them back to fly. Somebody black invented this shit was looking good. But um, but no, man, you look. You look for a character, someone who even you, as an adult, will look up to as your commander in chief. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Trump couldn't get the character right. Although you may even love the oh he's, he's not a politician. That's why I like him that bitch, why I ain't a mechanic. But let me change the brakes on your car and let you feel safe with my work, like go hop on the freeway. Yeah, it's good, it's cool. I know mechanic, but I know what. I know. This, I can do this. My uncle showed me once I could do it. You trust me.

Speaker 1:

You know he didn't have the character right man, but with some things, you know and this is why I'll even say man is black people we cannot be married to one political party Because they do the work and they get our votes and then they shit on us. When it's time to do, when it's time to give us what we asked for, we get shit it on. You know what I mean. Black people don't get nothing. They go to all Black foot. We gonna give you this one of the list of the recreation center around here. Yeah, even on a on a on a on a local level, you know, forget the presidential, but when it comes to the locally, that's another topic.

Speaker 1:

Man, did trump get it right on some things? Yes, like what would you feel that trump dot correct? I could use another $200, yeah, yeah, yeah, I could use another. Yeah, I, that was nice, that was nice. We, we bought our house in 2020. Didn't close the cost?

Speaker 1:

Trump, personally, like, just on some personal shit, like, yeah, man, that was, that was, that was all right, that was all right. Yeah, I also got fat. Okay, a lot of. I gained a lot of weight. I was at home, me and my wife was ordering, there was eating cookies and shit. Nigga, I'm guarding, fuck y'all. I like out of guard, but um, but now, man, but you know, when it came, see he was, he was. He was he for His people and what he knew his followers wanted, absolutely you know, however, the character still wasn't there, even for folks who, who Trump supporters, even they, at some point, we have to admit, at some we don't even know what this motherfucker was doing. He has me scared for a little bit. But if you're to be so stubborn and so gung-ho For this man, you know what I mean. They would, they would never admit. But at some point you gotta say, hey, man, he drunk, drunk, was out of pocket. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

January 6th, come on now. And that's aiding a riot. Yeah, it was a inside in a riot. And the people, uh, what is it Storming? Storm in the, uh, the capital. Yeah, it's a revolution. We're storming the capital for our rights. It's like you, you, you lost, you lost.

Speaker 1:

And you see, like you say, when you, when you think about, um, even, uh, george washington, uh, a beloved founding father of this great nation, hmm, you know what made, what really Made george washington a favorite, even just in battle, not even in presidency, to usually, um, when you, in battle I forget where I heard this man, you don't, you don't, you don't kill the motherfuckers on the horses. They on the horse, hey, you don't fuck with them. You know they off to the side, you know they safe, you, you're, you're, you're, boss, a captain, you know, don't kill them, they ain't got no weapons. Maybe they do, maybe just a little pistol. But you know, george say man, fuck them, kill them motherfuckers first, kill all of them, kill them first. Now they have no leader and they, that's what made them famous in battle. This is his strategy. Hey, get the motherfucking horse. Yeah, it is that boom Now. Now they all lost on there with a golden over. They don't know this land. We do guidance. They don't know what I mean. But Going, going back to trump, man, my, my issue with trump was was the character.

Speaker 1:

He did not have the care, not, not a character that I would want my kids to follow. You know and we talk about. You know movers and shakers and A person who's like george washington. Ah, fuck the rules. Ah, do I want that From my president? Against its own nation. You know what I mean. Against its own nation because, but because we so divided you got the red states and the blue states we find ourselves divided. Often, way, way too often, we're not gonna agree on everything. However, trump would be. So you know, ah, against the rules of this nation and when it comes to foreign shit, is having to get shit regulated with another nation. All forward, man. Hey, press mom, I'm with it. Do I want that behavior literally from the place. I live, against the place I live. No, no, and I like that. I like their response.

Speaker 1:

Um, trump was not always a favorite because of his character and he was only um favorite on actionables because he has a businessman prior to being becoming or feeling the role of a politician, if you will. Yeah, he understood business and a lot of those lobbying friends that he has that are millionaires and billionaires. They use the same tax codes that he used to be able to get certain tax benefits and credits. The government will never change it because it keeps them in power, to them in benefit, and each, each civilization has a slave class. Knowing that the us Was, was built off of the backs of slaves, off of, um, you know, pillaging and murder and rape, and you, you stole the land that people was already at. Okay, so wasn't, wasn't nigga. This was a heist. I think it is. They're great that the, the us and this is just my thought, man, I'm a conspiracy theorist person sometimes Okay, when they stated, as it's been proven, uh, through studies and things, that Christopher Columbus did not discover America because there were people already here, never said for it, it didn't take much to discover that, if we was smart enough to think about it, when we were being told the story, all that came here and the the natives were here.

Speaker 1:

He discovered we just won. Yeah, do you know what native means? Like they got him local. I'm from around. What the fuck you just came. You weren't here before I discovered this. So if you just say it slower, you would have heard it like he discovered America, where it was people you like. Okay, like it was covered to y'all.

Speaker 1:

So me, my theory, uh, when they stated that, hey, they massacred the people that were here, mm-hmm, I don't argue that that was the truth, but I argue why. My theory is, when it got off that boat and seeing that the people that they had captive on that boat was the same color of the people that was here at this land, they felt, as they already did prior, inferior and outnumbered. So to not let these others off the boat and feel like they're going to come have some camaraderie with you, to take on some people that look like them, yeah, couldn't allow that to happen. So it was hey, man, we got to murder everybody here because if we, they can mobilize. They can mobilize If we let these folks off this boat that's been already pitched and got some animosity towards us and link up with these other people, as you just stated, with George Washington.

Speaker 1:

Kill their leader as a military strategist type of person or like, if some war, some warship was to happen, follow me, I'm. I'm killing whoever. The big shot is because Most people, if they do not have a solid leader, they are lambs. They are lambs and leaders come a dime, a dozen man. You have to. You can be born a leader. You can create and build yourself up to be a leader man. You can.

Speaker 1:

If you ever feel negative about leadership or about somebody following a leader, you've never seen a good leader, yeah, very true. If you have an issue with somebody following somebody, you've never seen a good leader. Because you got to, you got to follow before you can lead. You know what I mean, absolutely. Who you learning from, who you, who you pulling game from? You know what I mean. Who's your master? Yeah, what am I supposed to say? Jesus, and it's possible. Man you have. You know certain.

Speaker 1:

You know what they call it in a, not an anomaly, but you know just folks who will say, hey, man, I had to teach myself how to do this. That happens, subox people who are like, yeah, there you go, they teach them. So they, they, they are self taught, self taught in a lot of different ways. That happens. Not everyone is like that. And when you, and once you know, do and once you do, teach, teach. But it's how it goes, it's how the cycle goes on and that's how we all grow together. You know what I mean? We fox with each other. Yeah, we fuckable.

Speaker 1:

But if you, but if you know, and you, like I ain't gonna tell nobody, are you a selfish motherfucking? You would never be a leader. You can never be a leader even if you know. But you don't want to give game, you don't want to teach. So, after your time is up, nobody else knows what the fuck. Because you didn't teach, because you didn't give game, you led you, you led your people into destruction. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you just happened to be an amazing fucking fisherman which, like I ain't gonna tell nobody my secrets because I don't want nobody, I'm getting all the videos that they know, I got all the fish. Like you can eat all the fish in the lake you know, or an ocean by yourself. And now you gone, the master fish are gone. He ain't show nobody the game. How the fuck we gonna eat. We can catch a little bit of fish, but goddamn, it's 1200 us Right? A African proverb is when an ancestor dies, a library is burned down yeah, that's knowledge that you can never get back. A library is gone to the ground yeah, it is gone.

Speaker 1:

So, as you mentioned, man, for skills that you have and they're not passed on, they are a waste. If you don't use it, you lose it. And for a person who is learning and sharpening skills on all the different hats that I wear, they can become heavy, but it is necessary to exercise these. These skills is necessary to exercise these skills of how well do you handle controversy, because that's when you really get to see at least in my scope of things. You get to kind of see who the person really is. Once animosity is between y'all, you get to say no or whatever the situation means. You get to see how they treat you. On a smaller note of with the children, when you get to tell your what I'm working with my sons now. Well, getting them comfortable with the word no, not to be negative, but as a level of protection of you have to get used to hearing the word no, yeah, because if you don't and your reactions are less than stellar, you've allowed that person to have control over you. Yeah, so you know I'm teaching them that as things that I'm learning myself as a leader. I've identified as that. I try my best to sharpen that up and to.

Speaker 1:

I don't own leadership, so I say that on different things that I pride myself on, of being extremely disciplined, of being a leader man being self taught on things being a motivator, an inspiration or an inspire person who's inspires, I clearly tell people like I don't own that shit, I don't own inspiration, I don't own motivation, I don't own dedication, I don't own determination, but these are things that I buy into. I buy into it because what has not been dedicated gotten you yeah, hmm, talk to him. What has not been dedicated gotten you Constantly having to hit the reset button, shifting of blame in a lot of cases, with most people love, oh, I didn't do it Because they was hating. Yeah, constant mediocrity, you know, yeah, man, so it gets. It gets deep man, of your leaders and who you put in positions of power and who you put your trust into to lead you about things that you may not know. So, man, with that being said, I identify as a leader. I push and promote for people to take on some form of leadership.

Speaker 1:

If you are a parent, you are a leader by default, straight up, all right. You have to lead your children, you have to teach your children and protect. We are very huge. Oh, most definitely, man. Protect, protect them kids, protect them children. But I digress, man, the children are my soft spot. I have two children myself and I have family members and friends who were victims of the violence, who were victims of abduction and victims of molestation and rape and things of that nature. So my heart always goes out to them of the level of protection or the psychiatric things that they still go through to this day, of trust and anxiety and just can't be alone somewhere, or phobias of things, man. So I know we then ran all around man, it's all good, man, but it just bringing it back home of you know, love for the women, protection of them, us as men. This is the role that we sit in. If you ever in a presence of us as men, or ever in the presence of a man, that's a man. You do not have to remind him to do his job straight up. You are protected. You are protected. You are love straight up you. You Will not have to second guess and I'll say this man I Seen on social media again, it was a young lady and I want to probably share it.

Speaker 1:

Man, it was on IG. When I get a chance to see it, I'd like to share this young, beautiful black lady brown lady has said she only Feels comfortable in the presence of men that look like her. Hmm, despite the craziness that she jokingly Bumble like y'all crazy, like what. I need you, black man, I need you so fucking bad. I want you. I Feel protected when you around, because it's certain things that I feel like only you would understand. Not that that other person won't or might not, but I'm really not in a place to just let my guard down to give them a chance. Yeah, you will not got some more similarities. I'd rather take a healthy risk with you. I'll play HR of myself and say I make a good decision. Man, these is the accolades you show me. You know some references here and there or so and so forth.
